A great year for Alice

Congratulations to our Senior Ecologist Alice who has had a busy 2025 gaining a range of skills and qualifications.

In June she attained her ACIEEM Associate level membership with the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM). Alice also went down to Shrewsbury in June to the Field Studies Council Centre – Preston Montford to undertake a Field Identification Skills Certificate (FISC). This involved having to identify botanical specimens from all over the country in test conditions, with and without reference materials, and an afternoon field test in a botanically diverse location. Alice received her results in December and achieved a FISC Level 4.

In mid-summer, Alice also gained her Natural England Bat Level 2 Class Licence. This licence enables Alice to use endoscopes as part of bat survey work, which can be very useful for finding bats in tricky crevices, and means she can handle bats when undertaking ecological supervision for development projects. Great work Alice!
