Our team have had Barn Owls under the ‘spotlight’ this winter, brushing up on skills and furthering their existing knowledge by completing the comprehensive course by The Barn Owl Trust.
Developed with field ecologists in mind, the “Barn Owl Ecology, Survey and Signs” (BOESS) course focuses on professional standard survey techniques, relevant legislation and mitigation for developments which may impact on the protected species.
Other modules of the course detailed the ecology of barn owl and included the study of identifying features (including feathers, pellets, skeletons and nest remains) for barn owls and other species which might be found in similar locations.
We are pleased to share that Izzy, Rachel, Heather and Alice have each completed the course, passing all the assessments. Great work team!
